Peace Pole and Water Bottle Filling Station to be unveiled at Charles Ansell Park
The Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore is proud to announce the completion of two new community projects at Charles Ansell Park that will benefit residents and visitors for years to come.
Working in partnership with the City of St. Catharines and with funding through a District 7090 Foundation District Grant, the club has installed a May Peace Prevail on Earth Peace Pole and a public water bottle filling station.
The Peace Pole is part of an international movement promoting peace, friendship, and understanding among all people. Displayed in communities around the world, Peace Poles serve as daily reminders that peace begins within each of us and grows through kindness, respect, and service.
The new water bottle filling station provides park visitors with convenient access to fresh drinking water while encouraging the use of reusable water bottles and helping reduce single-use plastic waste. Together, these projects reflect Rotary's commitment to Peacebuilding and Environmental Sustainability, two of Rotary's Areas of Focus.
The official unveiling will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, with Mayor Mat Siscoe, DG Joanne, Rotarians, community partners, and residents joining together to celebrate these lasting additions to Charles Ansell Park.
